We couldn’t be more pleased with issue four of Celebrating Poundbury magazine, even if we say so ourselves! It’s absolutely heaving with all the latest news, features and interviews.
This is testament to the hive of activity that is taking place in Poundbury. The new issue of Celebrating Poundbury not only marks the 25- year anniversary of Poundbury, but also a long awaited addition.
Damers First School opened its doors last month and now 450 children can call it their new school home. Its position on the Great Field overlooks their playing field, outside gym equipment and if plans go ahead possibly a natural play park and BMX track.
We welcome the arrival of this fantastic facility and hope the teachers, parents and schoolchildren enjoy their new school.
Also new for this issue we are pleased to launch a new business supplement that champions local businesses in Poundbury. As a new start up business ourselves, we value our local businesses, independent gems and trustworthy family run firms and we’re passionate about driving footfall to Poundbury.
A recent business survey has established there are now 2,340 people working in Poundbury every day in 185 businesses. From artisan butchers, to florists, cake makers, dress sellers and toy shops, Poundbury has a vast amount to offer and we want to shout about it.
Our events guide also lists the best that Poundbury and across Dorset has to provide this spring and summer, so that you don’t miss out on anything. Speaking of which we’re proud to offer our readers the chance to win family tickets (two adults, four children) to Camp Bestival with a fantastic competition in this issue.
As always, the magazine would not be possible without all the support from our readers and advertisers, so we thank you and hope you feel the benefit of the magazine.
Celebrating Poundbury is now sold all around Poundbury and Dorchester and a further 5,000 are given out across the county to act as footfall drivers for Poundbury.
As ever, please do get in touch if there’s anything you would like us to feature.
